Despite incredible advances in technology, dramatic changes within the media industry and a turbulent economy, one thing still remains constant during these uncertain times - you can’t replace the skills of creative people.
Techno buffs have not yet invented any computer software that can write stories or understand and interpret the subtle nuances of human communication - which is why I remain in business as a freelance media consultant and writer.
My strong track record in journalism is built on many years' experience as a feature writer covering human interest stories, health, education and social issues for regional and national newspapers and magazines.
I now also apply my skills to public relations, specialising as a freelance press officer for public sector organisations. This involves generating positive stories, reacting to negative events and handling press relations during a crisis.
I originally trained as a print journalist in Birmingham and Sheffield. Hailing from Romford in Essex, I have lived in Yorkshire for most of my career.
